China's presence in a Polish port has caused concern

The Hong Kong-based company controls a vital part of Poland's Gdynia port, raising national security concerns. The port is near a port used by Ukraine to offload US and NATO military aid.

Polish authorities say they are closely monitoring the Gdynia Container Terminal (BCT), operated by Hutchison Port Holdings, a subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings (headquartered in Hong Kong). "Everything that has to do with Poland's security is constantly analyzed," Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk told POLITICO. This includes the issue of supplying weapons to Ukraine, and we are doing everything possible to maximize the security of the process," he said.
