The Foreign Ministry of Latvia declared the Russian diplomat persona non grata

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia announced that one diplomat of the Russian Embassy had been declared persona non grata and ordered to leave the country by April 10.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry's website states, "The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia has decided to declare one diplomat of the Russian Embassy persona non grata. The Russian diplomat must leave Latvia by the end of April 10."

The expulsion is because the Russian Embassy "continues incorrect public communication to discredit the public institutions and authorities of the Latvian state and sow hatred in Latvian society."
