US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the "gap is narrowing" between Israel and Hamas to agree on a temporary ceasefire in exchange for the release of the hostages, but admitted that "real problems remain."
"We are working, as you know, with Egypt, Qatar, and Israel to present a serious proposal. Hamas responded to it," said Blinken during a press conference in Cairo. "Teams are working on it every day," he said. "There are still real problems. We have eliminated the gaps, but there are still gaps."
