"Ukraine's existence is in danger." Head of the Pentagon

US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin warned that Ukraine's existence is in danger. He has tried to convince allies that the United States is committed to Kyiv even as Washington has essentially exhausted its arms support for Ukrainian forces and has yet to provide new ones. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to schedule a vote on a bill that would give Ukraine another $60 billion, and the White House is scrambling to find funds to send aid to Kyiv, which has been battling Russian forces for more than two years.

"Today, Ukraine's survival is at stake, and America's security is at stake," Austin said at a news conference after the meeting.
