On Tuesday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he and French President Emmanuel Macron were waiting for the "right moment" to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"There were direct talks with Putin more than a year ago. The same applies to others who have actively spoken to him. We both said that we would do it again, but we need the right moment," Scholz said at the Europe 2024 conference in Berlin.
