The EU has agreed to provide 5 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine

After months of discussions, EU countries agreed in principle to provide military aid to Ukraine for at least 5 billion euros in 2024. The government of Belgium, which presides over the European Union in the first half of the year, announced this on Wednesday, March 13.

EU countries have agreed to reform the European Peace Fund (EPF) and increase its volume. European countries can finance joint purchases of military goods for Ukraine and receive partial compensation for military aid provided to Kyiv on a bilateral basis from EPF funds.
