Biden said he had accepted a Gaza ceasefire agreement in the hands of Hamas in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages as delegations entered a third day of talks without a breakthrough.
Negotiators from the Palestinian militant group Qatar and Egypt, but not Israel, are in Cairo trying to secure a 40-day ceasefire in the Hamas war with Israel for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which begins early next week.
