On February 28, His Holiness Pope Francis received the Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church members, led by the Most Reverend and Blessed Patriarch Raphael Petros, 21st Minasyan, Catholicos of the House of Cilicia, who arrived at the Vatican. The Embassy of Armenia in the Holy See has been informed about this.
In his address to them, the Pope of Rome stated that he was happy for the meeting following the commemoration day of St. Grigor Narekatsi and then referred to Armenia, explicitly stating: "How not to remember Armenia with words or prayers, especially those who fled from Nagorno Karabakh, the many displaced families seeking refuge."
Speaking about ongoing wars and conflicts, His Holiness called them "always tragic and always absurd" and continued. "I begged many of them, ``It's enough.'' Let's respond to the cry of peace together so that it touches everyone's hearts. And above all, let's pray. I will do it for you and Armenia."
