The Republic of Korea and the United States will conduct twice as many military exercises in the first half of 2024 as last year. This was announced by the Korean Minister of Defense, Shin Won-sik.
"About 20 military exercises were held last year, and approximately 50 military exercises are planned for the first half of this year," the "Joseon Ilbo" newspaper quoted the minister as saying. Shin Won-sik added that no trilateral military exercises between South Korea, Japan, and the United States are planned during the Freedom Shield exercise, which is scheduled to be held in March.
