Erdogan arrived in Egypt for the first time in 12 years

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Egypt for the first official visit in the last 12 years. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi welcomed Erdogan at Cairo International Airport.

The President of Turkey is visiting Egypt for the first time since the overthrow of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi in July 2013. After that, both countries recalled their ambassadors. It is expected that the main topic of the meeting between Erdogan and Sisi will be the situation in the Middle East, in particular, the Israel-Hamas war and the situation in Gaza.
