The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commented on the incident in the Kapan-Zangelan area, calling it a "military provocation carried out by Armenia."
"On February 12, as a result of another military provocation by the armed forces of Armenia, a soldier of the state border service of Azerbaijan was injured. This is a severe blow to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In the conditions of stability of the last 4-5 months, such actions contradict the messages of peace declared by Armenia. The fact that the incident took place in the territory controlled by the EU mission in RA raises severe concerns about the goals and objectives of this mission.
The military-political leadership of Armenia is responsible for such provocations against Azerbaijan," the statement said.
