A former CIA employee was sentenced to 40 years in the WikiLeaks case

The former software engineer of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He was accused of the most significant theft of classified information in the history of the US government.

The bulk of Joshua Schulte, 35, was sentenced in Manhattan federal court in 2017 for the public release of CIA secrets by WikiLeaks. He has been in prison since 2018.
