"We will achieve peace if Armenia changes the constitution." Aliev

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan referred to the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations and constitutional amendments of Armenia.

"There is already de facto peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia; there has been a peaceful situation on the border of the two countries for several months. Peace can be achieved if changes are made to the constitution of Armenia and other documents. By pursuing a destructive policy in the region, France is acting on the principle of pouring gasoline on the fire," Aliyev said.

Aliyev also stated that in other normative legal documents of Armenia, there are many reservations regarding territorial claims to Azerbaijan in many conventions and other documents that do not recognize Azerbaijan's sovereignty over Karabakh. Aliyev noted that Armenia's claims against Azerbaijan in international courts are based on issues such as Armenia's non-recognition of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity and the secession of Karabakh from Azerbaijan.

According to Aliyev, peace can be achieved if these claims are ended and changes are made in the Armenian constitution and other normative legal documents. Aliyev expressed hope that they will be implemented in Armenia soon. According to Aliyev, initiating internal political discussions in Armenia is a positive step and can create an excellent opportunity to complete the peace process.
