The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Ayhan Hajizade, responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Armenian Army regarding the signing of a non-aggression pact and a mechanism for the bilateral control of the Armenian-Azerbaijani arms and armaments.
Hajizade stated that the statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia is aimed at diverting attention from the process of establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia and concluding a bilateral agreement on interstate relations.
"Since the start of the discussions on the draft agreement of the Azerbaijani side, the Armenian side continues to defend the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and in its applications to various international courts after the 44-day war, official correspondence and letters distributed within the framework of international organizations. have pretended against sovereignty," the Baku Foreign Ministry announced.
According to the official Baku, Pashinyan's statement about the purchase of weapons worth billions of dollars is an obstacle to the further development and progress of the region based on respect for the norms and principles of international law.
"Azerbaijan, for its part, will continue efforts aimed at building peace and expects adequate steps from Armenia not only in words but also in deeds," emphasized the representative of the Foreign Ministry.
