The director of the US CIA will visit Israel and the region for negotiations

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Bill Burns is expected to meet with officials from Israel, Egypt, and Qatar to discuss a deal to free the hostages held by Hamas, according to the plan. The meetings come amid intense discussions about the parameters of a new agreement that would combine the release of hostages with a cessation of hostilities in Gaza. The matches are expected to take place in Europe, the official said.
US officials have said they remain focused on securing the release of the hostages amid strained relations between Israel and Qatar.
