President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, headed by a high-ranking delegation. After the official application ceremony, bilateral negotiations between the presidents of Iran and Turkey took place.
At the meeting, which lasted for about 2 hours, Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey supports neighboring Iran in the fight against terrorism.
"We discussed regional and international issues. The Palestinian issue is at the center of attention in both Turkey and Iran. We discussed the need to stop Israel's inhumane attacks on the Gaza Strip and take urgent steps to establish a just and lasting peace.
We will continue to work for centuries to develop relations with Iran, our neighboring country, according to the interests of our countries and our region," Erdogan said.
For his part, the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, noted that Iran and Turkey can solve many regional and global problems through cooperation.
"Turkey's security is our security. They want to sow discord among the countries of the region. The way to counter it is regional cooperation.
International organizations cannot fulfill their functions. The UN has lost its function. Iran has maintained good relations with Turkey for many years. We want to raise these relations to a higher level in the future," Raisi said.
