US and UK forces have launched new strikes against the Houthis

The Pentagon said that US and UK forces struck Yemen's Houthis on Monday, targeting an underground storage facility as well as missile sites and surveillance equipment used by the Iran-linked group against Red Sea shipping.

The Houthis, who control the most densely populated areas of Yemen, have said their attacks are a show of solidarity with the Palestinians as Israel strikes the Gaza Strip. The Houthi attacks have disrupted global shipping in the Red Sea and raised concerns about global inflation. They also raised concerns that the fallout from a war between Israel and Hamas could destabilize the Middle East.
