"We resolutely reject the groundless claims against Azerbaijan made by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the EU Commission Josep Borrell, on January 22, 2024, during a press conference on the results of the International Relations Council." This is stated in the comment of Ayhan Hajizadeh, head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
"The blatant distortion of facts by the EU High Representative is contempt for the legitimate interests of Azerbaijan, and such threatening rhetoric is a clear example of the double standard that further aggravates the relations between Azerbaijan and the EU.
The high representative not only completely distorts the views of the President of Azerbaijan regarding the historical facts about the territories of Azerbaijan and Armenia but also incites a belligerent and aggressive policy towards Azerbaijan," the statement said.
