The French Senate adopted a resolution to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan
Today, the French Senate discussed Resolution 2023, which calls for sanctions against Azerbaijan and demands Baku guarantee the rights of Artsakh Armenians to return to Nagorno Karabakh. The resolution was adopted with 336 votes in favor and one against.
This resolution of the Senate condemns Azerbaijan's military attack and aggression in Artsakh and further attempts to violate the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. It demands the application of sanctions against Azerbaijan and the establishment of guarantees of the right of return of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The resolution also reaffirms the inviolability of Armenia's territorial integrity and calls for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia.
