On January 17, one of the resolutions discussed in the French Senate will refer to Armenia and the Armenians of Artsakh.
A group of republican deputies of the Senate, Bruno Retayo, Gilbert Dvinaz, and others, propose to adopt a resolution by Article 34-1 of the French constitution, which is aimed at condemning Azerbaijan's military attack in Nagorno-Karabakh, preventing any further attempts of aggression, and violating the territorial integrity of Armenia.
The resolution will call for the imposition of sanctions against Azerbaijan and "require the provision of security guarantees to the Armenian population who have the right to return to Nagorno-Karabakh."
