The international media reports that a large-scale wave of riots has begun in Ecuador.
The Ecuadorian mafia, in response to the state of emergency announced by the president, organized riots and clashes throughout the country.
New President Daniel Noboa responded by declaring 22 mafia groups terrorist organizations and saying the country was in the midst of an internal armed conflict.
A few days ago, after the disappearance of the leader of one of the mafia groups from prison, President Noboa declared a state of emergency in the country. The state of emergency includes, among other things, expanded powers for the police and military, a ban on public gatherings, and a curfew.
Videos and photos of armed robbers on the streets, burning cars, and even explosions were published on social networks. Mafioso gangs even took police officers hostage in the capital.
