The Pope called to support the people of Artsakh in returning to their homes

According to tradition, Pope Francis met the diplomatic representatives accredited to the Vatican at the beginning of every year.
Francis also referred to the tense situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Pope reminded that "the inhabitants of that region are in a dramatic humanitarian situation" and appealed to "encourage the return of displaced persons to their homes legally and safely, as well as to respect the places of worship of the various religious denominations in the region."
