Blinken and Fidan referred to the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations.

Ankara is waiting for the completion of purchasing American F-16 fighter jets, and the final decision on Sweden's membership in NATO remains with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced this during a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Istanbul.

The heads of the foreign affairs departments thoroughly discussed bilateral relations during the negotiations. Fidan and Blinken also exchanged thoughts on the ongoing human tragedy in the Gaza Strip.

The Turkish Foreign Minister drew attention to the fact that Israel's growing aggression poses a threat to the entire region. He noted the importance of an early ceasefire in Gaza and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian exclave. Fidan called for negotiations to be started as soon as possible to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict between the two states.

The Turkish minister also referred to Turkey's efforts to transport agricultural products from Russia and Ukraine to world markets. The meeting also touched on the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the situation in Syria and Iraq.
