The US could deploy 38 F15 fighter jets in Japan.

Citing the command of the U.S. Air Force, the Nikkei newspaper reported that the U.S. military is considering permanently stationing 38 of the latest upgraded F-15X fighter jets at Kaden Air Base on Okinawa Island.

The production of F-15EX fighters began only in 2020. The permanent deployment of these aircraft is seen as an essential part of China's deterrence strategy. Nikkei writes.
