Post-election clashes in Serbia. The opposition tried to attack the municipality building

Demonstrators tried to attack the municipality's building in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The police dispersed the protesters using tear gas. BBC reports.

Protests in Serbia began shortly after the December 17 election, but this is the first time unrest has occurred.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in a televised message that two policemen were injured during the clashes, and more than 35 participants in the attack were arrested.

The opposition accuses the police of using disproportionate force against them. According to them, they were beaten by clubs.

On December 17, Serbia held both local and parliamentary elections.

The opposition accuses Aleksandar Vučić and his ruling Serbian Progressive Party of falsifying election results through ballot stuffing, bribery, and other means.
