CNN reports that Israel's ambassador to the US, Michael Herzog, has stated that Israel is ready to stop military operations in Gaza in exchange for the release of as many hostages as possible.
On Tuesday, the ambassador's brother, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, told ambassadors accredited to Israel almost the same thing.
"I can confirm the fact that Israel is ready for another humanitarian pause and additional humanitarian assistance to secure the release of the hostages. We must be ready. The responsibility rests entirely on the leadership of Hamas," he said.
