Hamas leaders met secretly in Turkey

High-ranking Hamas officials met secretly in Turkey last week. Israel's national broadcaster, KAN TV, reported on Sunday night.

The meeting was organized by the Vice Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, Saleh al-Aruri, who arrived from his residence in Beirut, and the former head of Hamas, Khaled Mashal, who lives in Doha, the capital of Qatar. According to KAN, several other senior Hamas officials were present. Turkey was deliberately chosen as the venue because it is considered safe for leaders to meet there.
