Israel and Hamas are open to a hostage deal, although there are still disagreements over how to implement it. Two Egyptian sources told Reuters. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is set to arrive in Israel on Monday. Austin, who has been in Kuwait and Bahrain, is also expected to visit Qatar, which is trying to broker a deal with Egypt for the return of more than 120 hostages remaining in Gaza.
The deal is expected to include Israel releasing Palestinian prisoners responsible for killing Israelis in past terror attacks, KAN News reported.
