"The authorities of Georgia are more interested in maintaining business relations with Russia than in the path to the European Union." The Reuters agency quoted the words of an anonymous European official.
"As for Georgia, its government is more interested in doing business with Russia than moving towards the EU," said the agency's interlocutor, involved in negotiations with countries seeking to join the European Union. According to him, Georgia has recently "stepped away from implementing key reforms" necessary for EU membership.
