"The hopes of a counter-attack were not justified." Supreme Council of Ukraine

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexei Danilov, stated that the hopes of Kyiv's counterattack were unjustified.
"There were hopes, but they were not justified," he said in an interview with the BBC. "The fact that we have been defending our country for two years is already a great victory."
