"Iran welcomes the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia and is ready to support it." Canaan
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanani, referred to the recent joint statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan and welcomed it.
Referring to Iran's relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan and Tehran's diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions in the Caucasus, Kanani said.
"Iran welcomes the joint statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia on mutual actions and cooperation, including the release of prisoners from both sides. We consider it a positive event."
He added that achieving sustainable peace requires strengthening the atmosphere of peaceful rhetoric and trust between the regional parties. "We hope that these measures will lead to peace and stability between the two sides. Iran is ready to support both countries in ensuring regional peace and security."
