France, Germany and Italy demand new sanctions against Hamas from the EU

The foreign ministers of France, Germany and Italy are urging early adoption of a new EU sanctions package against Hamas for its "brutal and indiscriminate terrorist attacks" against Israel on October 7.

"The quick adoption of this sanctions regime will allow us to send a strong political message to Hamas about the commitment of the European Union and our solidarity with Israel," the three ministers wrote in a letter addressed to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell.
