"It's a positive signal." French Foreign Ministry on the statement of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan

The French Foreign Ministry reports that France welcomes the positive signal presented by Armenia and Azerbaijan's joint statement and the goodwill both sides show, particularly the release of detainees.
"We hope that these statements are the first step towards the settlement of the situation of prisoners and missing persons. France supports the quick resumption of negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the support of the European Union and the United States.
As we have mentioned many times, there can be stable peace only by respecting international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of the borders of the two states," the statement said.
