The US is lagging behind China in the pace of naval construction

The Wall Street Journal reports that the United States of America needs to catch up to China in building warships due to insufficient financing of the military-industrial complex and production capacity.

According to Eric Labs, an analyst at the Congressional Budget Office, China can replace lost ships much more quickly because the United States "simply does not have the industrial capacity to build a large volume of ships in a short period." He clarified that the Chinese Navy received 17 new cruisers and destroyers in the last two years, which will take at least six years from the US under current conditions.
