Hamas leaders fled through tunnels into Egypt

Israel's armed forces admit that the leaders of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas can leave the Gaza Strip through underground tunnels and hide in Egypt. Jonathan Conricus, a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces reserve, said this in a briefing.

"I don't have the latest information about the condition of these tunnels, but I guess that at least some of them are still in use, and therefore there is that risk," he emphasized.
