The Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill on the use of English in Ukraine. 278 deputies voted in favor. According to the commission's decision, showing English-language films in the original language with Ukrainian subtitles in cinemas was forbidden.
Thus, the project envisages:
Giving English official status as one of the country's international communication languages.
Determining the category of positions for which English proficiency will be required from candidates.
Standardization of the features of using English in the work of state bodies, local self-government bodies, and emergency aid units when crossing the state border in education, transport, and healthcare
