Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Qatar, can exchange prisoners and sign a cease-fire

An official familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that Qatari mediators are seeking to negotiate a deal between Hamas and Israel that includes the release of about 50 civilian hostages from Gaza in exchange for a three-day ceasefire.
The deal in question, which was agreed upon with the US, also entails Israel releasing some Palestinian women and children from its prisons and increasing the amount of humanitarian aid allowed to Gaza, the official said.
