Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that his country does not seek to conquer, occupy, or rule Gaza after the war against Hamas but that "credible force" will be needed to enter the Palestinian enclave if necessary to prevent terrorist threats from emerging.
These statements were made in response to US Secretary of State Blinken's statement that neither Israel nor Hamas will rule Gaza but the Palestinian people.
