The US Senate has approved the candidacy of Mark Libby for the post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
Mark Libby's candidacy was approved by voting. Earlier, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate approved his candidacy.
Libby is a long-time diplomat, worked in Brussels as the assistant head of the US mission to the European Union and chargé d'affaires, and held high positions in the US State Department. He is appointed to the position of ambassador for the first time.
It should be noted that the term of office of Ambassador Earl Litzenberger, who completed his mission, ended in July 2022, and that position has been vacant for more than a year.
