"The Gaza Strip cannot be controlled by either the radical Hamas movement or Israel in the future." US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced this during his visit to Japan.
"First, Gaza cannot be controlled by Hamas. Otherwise, there will just be a repeat of October 7, and Gaza will be used as a staging ground for terrorist attacks. It is also clear that Israel cannot occupy Gaza. We probably need a transition period. The main goal is to ensure that the Palestinians govern Gaza and the West Bank," Blinken said.
