According to Washington, the deployment of Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip on a long-term basis and its actual "re-occupation" after the end of the war against Hamas is undesirable.
"Like Israel, we fundamentally do not support the re-occupation of the Gaza Strip," US State Department Deputy Chief of Staff Vedant Patel said on Tuesday, November 7.
