The Israeli press writes that Esmail Qaani, commander of the Quds group of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), visited Lebanon on Wednesday to agree on the details of Israel's conflict with Hezbollah. Lebanese "al-Jadid" news agency reported on Wednesday. In early October, just one day after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, Syrian media reported that Qaani was also visiting Lebanon.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told Iranian media on Wednesday that Qaani was "working for peace and security in the region and fighting terrorism" and that "Iran does not give direct orders to its proxies in the region."
