Against the background of the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, Blinken had earlier visited Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, and Egypt. In addition, on October 18, US President Joe Biden visited Israel on a one-day emergency visit.
