The department's press secretary, General Patrick Ryder, announced that the TASS agency reports that the Pentagon will send 300 troops to the operational area of the US Central Command, which covers the Middle East, East Africa, and Central Asia.
He added that he did not intend to reveal the exact location of the forces but emphasized that they would not be sent to Israel.
