Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has started the second phase of the war in the Gaza Strip.
"Citizens of Israel, yesterday evening, our ground forces passed through the gates of Gaza and entered the den of evil. This is the second phase of the war, which has clearly defined goals: to destroy the military and political infrastructure of Hamas and return the hostages," Netanyahu said in a televised message.
