China will not attend a meeting of national security advisers on Ukraine in Malta

Bloomberg reports that China will not participate in the meeting of national security advisers on Ukraine in Malta.

The meeting participants are the G7 countries: Qatar, South Africa, India, and Turkey. Brazil and Chile will participate in the conference online.

"Beijing's absence will be a disappointment for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is trying to gain international support for his project for a strong and just peace," the publication said.

"Ukraine intends to hold the summit later this year, and Beijing's participation is crucial to that effort, as China is one of the few countries that exert some influence on Russian President Vladimir Putin," says the media.
