The Minister of Defense of Sweden, Paul Johnson, announced that Washington and Stockholm would sign an agreement to provide access to Swedish military bases and warehouses for the American military.
"We must have a strong American presence in northern Europe. It will have a restraining and stabilizing effect," said the minister. The relevant agreement on military cooperation may enter into force in the fall of 2024.
