Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the president of Azerbaijan, told "Político" that Azerbaijan does not intend to go to a military solution and attack Syunk. According to Hajiyev, the project has lost its appeal. "Instead, we can do it with Iran," Hajiyev said.
Commenting on their demands regarding the Azerbaijan-Nakhijevan transport connection and the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations, Hajiyev said: "There are real chances for signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a short period of time. Our agenda referred only to the establishment of a transport hub and connection within the framework of bilateral engagement. If so, yes, but if not, fine. It is still on the table, but the Armenian side must show interest in it."
