80% of Israelis say Netanyahu should bear responsibility for October 7 attack

According to a poll by the Maariv newspaper, an overwhelming majority of Israelis believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should publicly accept responsibility for the stunning failures that led to the devastating October 7 attack by Hamas. The heads of Israel's defense and Shin Bet have already taken such responsibility, as have the defense minister and the finance minister.
80% of Israelis say that Netanyahu should follow their example. Moreover, 69% of respondents voted for the Prime Minister's Likud party in last year's elections. Only 8% of the public believe that the Prime Minister is not guilty.
