US President Joe Biden returned to Washington after visiting Israel. The press service of the White House reported this. On October 18, Biden arrived in Israel on a one-day emergency solidarity visit. In Tel Aviv, he held several meetings with the military and political leadership of the Jewish state, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Afterward, Biden was scheduled to travel to Amman, where he had planned talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Still, that meeting was canceled after the attack on Al-Ahli Hospital. During the meeting with Netanyahu, Biden said he believed "another faction" in the conflict, not Israel, was responsible for the attack on the hospital.
